Getting Started

After attending an introductory course in piloting and track safety or pass evaluation tests you can, depending on your age, start in one of the following classes.
  • 8 to 10 years

  • Cadet
    For 8 to 10 years old, Karting Québec offers the Cadet class. The engine is one design and preparation is prohibited. The chassis and tires, fuel and even the operation of the transmission are regulated. All in this formula was chosen so as to keep costs to a minimum. Competitions for young people in this class are held throughout Quebec.
  • From 11 to 14 years

  • At the age of 15 years

    Rotax Espoir
    To meet the demands and needs of racing enthusiasts who want to learn about the competition Quebec Karting offers the Rotax Hope class. With an more modern engine n and regulations that prohibit any preparation, this formula is considered the best choice in price / performance / pleasure. With a regulated chassis, this kart equipped with monotype tires with good performance for at least two test events, is powered by the famous Rotax Max recognized for its performance and high reliability. Formula Rotax Hope requires only a very small operating budget making it the ideal class where all participants have the opportunity to demonstrate their talent and not their wallet. After one season, the participant may if desired, continue in this class, or accede to a higher category.
  • Required Equipment

  • A helmet-type text approved for racing type Snell, BS or IFC and a protection for the ribs are required. In addition it is necessary to wear a combination that can resist abrasion, some gloves and shoes that protect the ankle.
